DC Legendary Musicians

02

DC Legendary Musicians – I  have been out of the live performance game for a few years now. I hear that when you hire a band with a “DC Legendary” musician in it, you have to pay the “legend” separately. If you are performing in a club and you ask a “DC Legendary” musician to sit in for 1 or 2 songs, you have to pay him/her whether it be for a front man/woman, a drummer/percussionist or any other instrumentalist. My questions are: How do you gauge the pay (who is a big legend and who is a little legend and who is a wanna-be legend)? Also, are establishments paying so little that individuals have to negotiate for themselves outside of the group? What’s going on?
